THE MUSIC OF SKYDOGCON #5

This album cover has nothing to do with the music we played.
Among the most unexpected asks we get regularly each year is "who is this artist you're playing?" Usually that is followed up by a request to get a playlist or allow them to shoulder-surf our screen to scroll through our music library which we usually oblige (if you don't creep us out or start into some diatribe).  Honestly...we really only ever picked some music to play at SkyDogCon based on some simple requirements...
  1. We don't need a license or have to worry about fees if it gets captured/imbedded & posted (YouTube, etc.)...we don't have money to get sued!
  2. It isn't "vocally driven" as it can be distracting (or offensive depending on artist)...this is background music to allow & encourage you to talk without feeling like everyone in the room can hear your conversation! We aren't in a library!
  3. We like it.
So...at the end of #SDC5 we were yet again reminded/pressured/threatened that we HAD to post up the artists and songs.  We'll look into possibly creating a Spotify, iTunes, SoundCloud or whatever playlist and seed it over time with some of our favs or ones that didn't make the list for whatever reason.  To that end...the "official" list is below.

SDC#5 CTF POSTED

Looking Back

The feedback from this year's CTF was awesome! We were absolutely thrilled the format was so well received and the participation so high!

We received a large number of requests to post the CTF online for those who were not able to attend or wanted to attempt it after the conference. Since the format of the event was a static virtual machine and not a live network, "the creator" James Bower @jamesbower has posted it on his blog with a link to download.

GO CHECK IT OUT HERE

James has also promised to provide a writeup and full walkthrough just as he did at closing ceremonies!  We'll be sure to post that link once he's done but go ahead and download the VM if you didn't get it at SDC#5, boot it up...AND GO HACK IT!

MUCH THANKS TO JAMES! GREAT JOB!

SKYDOGCON 2015 VIDEOS POSTED!

Sorry it took so long guys, but the "CON Crud" kinda put a kink in getting these done this week.  That said...we're polishing up a couple of them that had issues but, as of right now, only 2 of the 18 recorded talks are pending (a few were not recorded at speaker request).  We'll update the playlist as they're ready but pay attention to Twitter for the individual talk links.

We had an awesome year of talks and hope you enjoy catching up on ones you missed, revisiting the material, or tuning in if you weren't able to make it out to the CON.
